All I have to hear is that dorky little intro (four notes) and I'm ready to hit the mute switch. Dumbass little yuppie smug dumbasses and, like you say, the husband appears to be the dummy.

Welcome!!
Ebola is my favorite deadly virus. H5N1 use to be last year's fav. I don't know if the stereotype is true, but I do enjoy the occasional HD visit. I do not care for congested crowds, but HD can sway me out. |

First off, I am new here, so, "hey". One of the ads on the radio that really rub me the wrong way are the Home Depot ads. They have been in a campaign since atleast Memorial Day of "Bossy Wives and Stupid Husbands". Here in the Chicago Market, the ad currently run is one where the wife and husband are rearranging furninture on a patio.
The wife is deciding how the layout will be and at the end of the dialogue, the guy says rather wimpishly, "Honey, is this ok?"
She says, "No, it's too close to the bird bath."
He responds, "Oh, you're right". or something to that effect.
But lately it seems all the women in the ads are in charge and the men are just the means to get things done.
But one HD commercial did make me laugh was one around Father's Day. The premise of the ad was "where do Dad's go?" A son asks his father "where are you going?"
"To the HD" he says.
"What do we need?" the boy asks.
"I don't know. I'll find out when I get there"
The voice over says something like, "sometimes dads don't need a reason to go to HD."
I know why he is going, to get away from that bossy wife of his and his interrogating little brat of a kid.
