I think it's more because Lifetime's audience isn't exactly the ideal audience for the show. It never really gets cancelled anyway, just transferred.

I'd honestly prefer Lifetime use the timeslot to air The Golden Girls, since they had the best cuts of the episodes (Hallmark's are horrendous)

I thought it had been cancelled some years ago.

It's been off of Fox for quite awhile.

That used to be my Saurday night TV routine.

Two b-2-b COPS, then AMW.

It's all Britcoms now, though.

1,100 captures doesn't seem a lot in 20 some years.

1,202 over 25 years to be exact.

Equals approx. 48 per year avg. or about 4 a month.

Not bad, considereing they were all dangerous, violent felons.

Better than having them not captured.

Sorry to see it go & hope it comes back.

It was canceled a few years ago as a regular series, but they had it in the contract to run a few "specials" every year.  Wondering if 'Cops' will get the ax next....

I think COPS still gets pretty good ratings, so it's probably fairly safe.

AMW just wasn't pulling in the viewers I guess.

Well, in between movies about rape, kidnapped children, cancer, cheating husbands, and being felt up by your Lesbian transsexual orthodontist, they needed something light-hearted and entertaining.

It will probably be off the air for a while, but after another tragedy similar to the Connecticut Shootings or even worse, another "9/11" style holocaust Ouch (Trust me, this is a case of WHEN, not "if"), people will SCREAM to have it return. Absence makes the heart grow fond. Hug

Yeah, do you really think a TV show prevents crimes?

If you look at it in the context of all the crimes that weren't committed by the 1,202 criminals that were captured & are now rotting in prison because of the show, I suppose one could reason that a TV show actually has prevented crimes.

That's a surprise, every single movie Lifetime ever does is about somebody getting raped or murdered. You'd think their audience would eat this sh*t up. My guess is John Walsh couldn't find enough murderers and rapists to profile and had to settle for drug dealers and embezzlers.

He should go to Chicago, Detroit, Oakland, etc.  There's plenty of murder to solve in those places.  But I don't know if that sort of murder would appeal to the Lifetime crowd.  The Lifetime crowd usually likes a romance angle to its rape and murder stories.  If not romance, then wealth.
