When I lived in Indiana, if you wanted alcohol on Sunday. You had to plan ahead. The liquor stores were closed.  I would go to the bowling alley to get a good buzz on and maybe sneak a beer out when I left.

Not a problem here in Wisconsin.

You know you're an alcoholic when you have an emergency alcohol delivery app downloaded on your phone.

When living in Canada no one could buy alcohol on Sundays and grocery stores didn’t sell booze at all. Imagine my surprise when we moved to Charlotte, NC and, not only could we buy beer and wine in the grocery store, we could even buy alcohol on Sundays! Blown away!

US has no national laws, alcohol is left to individual states, often even to individual towns, to regulate.window.onbeforeunload = function() {}

I grew up in Alabama, where the drinking age was 21;  so everyone just drove across the state line to Florida, where the drinking age was 18.

I now live in a large city composed of many townships, each with their own ordinances;  some are dry, some are wet.  There are numerous places where you cannot buy beer or wine in a grocery store but can walk across the street to another grocery store, in a different township, and it's perfectly legal.

Is it any wonder why we ridicule our politicians.

I grew up in New Jersey, where the drinking age was 21;  so everyone just drove across the state line to New York (Rockland county), where the drinking age was 18. There was a dogleg with a stone wall facing traffic from NY a mile from the border that laid claim to many cars and some lives.

I don't buy alcohol often in Texas, but the few times I've tried, it's been Sunday before noon and I had the wine or beer taken away from me. Made me seethe, as it's the f-ing Christians who make the laws here and shove their morality control onto all of us.

I grew up in NJ, too. I remember my bro (3 yrs older than me) going to Staten Island to drink, as the drinking age in NJ then was 21. He went to some bar called the Aquahonga.

The year I turned 18 (1973), the drinking age was lowered to 18. So, I never really suffered from any legal drinking age restrictions. In fact. Even before then, I'd go into liquor stores and buy. No one was real anal about such stuff back then.

At this point, I can't even remember the last time I bought alcohol. It might've been when I bought some liqueur for Christmas maybe 2005.

I lived in northern Indiana as a teenager. The drinking age was 21.  But, me and my high school buddies were only about a half hour from Michigan.  The drinking age was 18.  It was pretty easy to alter a drivers license back then too.

I was buying beer and going into bars when I was 17.

Back in the mid 70's people weren't as worried about it.

One Saturday night/early Sunday morning in late 1974, I was out driving around with some friends after we drank five Colt 45 "tall boys" each.

Got pulled over for making my little Dodge Colt station wagon fishtail on a wet road.

The right rear tire hopped up onto the curb before I quite nicely straightened it out.

I was pretty proud of myself until I looked in the rearview mirror and saw the red and blue flashing lights right behind me.

Failed the roadside sobriety test miserably.

Got arrested and charged with DWI and Reckkless Driving.

Blood alcohol was .17.

Mom & dad had to come to the police station at 3 am to pick me up.

The liquor store that sold us the beer at their drive through package store probably got into some sh*t and the clerk might have lost his or her job over it.

I was an avid surfer back then.

Spent a lot of time out in the Florida sun.

I was more of a nice, toasty brown.

My hair was white, though.

And long.

I'm trying to ascertain if "the "or what????"" is some kind of hip new pop culture term I haven't heard that implies something positive about my "all that-ness", or if you're just trying to say that it's unclear as to just exactly what I was in terms of gender.

Assuming there even still are genders, of course.

You need to get away from Walmart.

You're obviously associating with too many young, ethnic, "urban" types.

You shouldn't know all these modern pop culture references.

What's next.... both arms covered in tattoos?

You asked if you were "fabulous or what". I informed you that you must've been the "or what" 'cuz you certainly weren't fabulous. Certainly, not compared to me.

Oh, OK.

I get it now.

Apparently, I'm getting so old and feeble, I can't remember what I just posted.

Oh, and notice the lack of periods at the ends of my sentences. The use of periods other than in mid-paragraph is now considered rude. I swear! Look it up
