There's power in ignorance - or have you both already said that?

There's power in lots of things.
Especially in having power. Having power is where most of the power is. |

I agree Trump is clueless when it comes to issues of race, but he is clearly more comfortable around whites - and HE may not even be aware of it, but it is very visible. Sort of makes him a 'Kloset Klan Kamp' member - wise enough to claim he has no racial bias, yet too stupid to look at himself, so every bit of 'blacklash', 'yellow fever', or 'brown ground round' he has receives, he has earned...and he has yet to 'swim against the red tide'. When he receives feedback, he doesn't even listen - why should he? He has all the money, which he equates equal to 'power'. |

You know, that ad could have been a lot worse, with the black woman pulling off her shirt to reveal Caitlyn Jenner...

May get even more 'comment' if Caitlyn Jenner took off its shirt and RuPaul appeared.

They couldn't use Michael Jackson. That would confuse and anger people even more...

I think most people are more comfortable around their own race, their own age, their own countrymen, their own socio-economic level, etc. |

THAT is precisely a major part of the problem where discomfort and accusations begin. What you said right there is where 'true humanity' lives - being basically blind to those things. If you can't first be human, you can sound as sympathetic and caring as you want, but you CAN'T understand. You may not believe you are racist or biased and you can be 'best friends'...but there will be always be a 'wall' that possible neither side sees until it does in some painful situation. Believe me - when the Missus and I would trudge into ' 'da Hood' for the first time, she could walk in 'admission paid' (as long as we were in civilian attire), but I was always 'the unknown', treated like an alien and watched like a prospective victim until known (which is true for everyone). Being wary is one thing - being aware and understanding, along with unbiased, is totally different. |
