If you've seen any commercials lately, you'll notice that they now have disclaimers in them either to warn lazy parents of possible 'dangers', or to cover their buts when some jackass attempts to do some crazy stunt he saw on the commercial. (you know, just like cartoons, and video games) On the one hand, i half to laugh at this because the it shows how ridiculous the advertising industry truly is by flashing stupidity in our faces nearly every single day. Yet, on the other hand, they now find themselves in the same hot seat that cartoons, and video game have been in for the past 10, or 15 years. This is also an scary indication that our society is getting more dumber than it's ever been, and that human being will finally come 'full cricle' on the evolutionary ladder.

I love the disclaimer on sleeping pills; "May Cause Drowsiness".
What the hell do you mean MAY? I don't want a sleeping pill that MAY cause drowsiness, I want one that WILL cause drowsiness.

You can always cover yourself with "Do Not Attempt". Just stick "Do Not Attempt" on everything, and you're golden.

There was an ad for carpeting a while ago where this guy was trying desperately to calm down a fussy, crying infant, and he put it down on the carpet in crawling postition so he could reach a toy on the shelf, and the baby immediately fell asleep. (Ya know, because the carpet is so lush and comfy or something.) Well, at the bottom of the screen there was small print "Babies should not be allowed to sleep on their stomachs." (They really shouldn't - they can turn their heads and accidentally smother themselves, causing crib death.) And I thought, why even show someone doing that? After all the effort made to get the word out to parents not to do that, why would you show someone doing it? It's not really a "common-sense" thing, either. At least they had the disclaimer, but I thought it should've been bigger. Or, you know, don't do it in the first place.
