If you are injured playing racket ball and have to wear an eye patch. You will be mugged by some "gang bangers" and left in a ditch. I fail to see the connection to Direct TV?????

The message is basically "cable sucks, switch to DirecTV." Actually, there are some cable companies that offer better service than they do. Another stupid (and misleading) concept from them.
As long as they keep mail-bombing me each week persuading me to switch, I won't consider them.

I have to question why you people question such things like this. Of course the stuff in this commercial has little to do with Direct TV and of course the stuff in it is ridiculous, that's the point. It was made to be humorous, not to be taken literally.

It's a cause and effect joke, with so many stages that point b doesn't seem like it should be able to connect to point a. It's a fairly obvious joke. And at least Direct TV's commercials are better than Dish's, who tend to stick to directly smearing the other company.

I HATE this guy's voice. I always hear him doing the "60 Minutes" voiceovers and I've heard him on a bunch of other commercials.
Imagine having to be around this guy in person? I would go insane. His voice is so monotonous and boring. Can't they find anyone with human emotion? |

Dear direct TV...STOP HATING ON CABLE. Cable is not evil, and cable does not go out when it rains. Your packages are sh*tty and I will never, ever have a dish on my house. You don't see cable constantly beating down dishes....they don't HAVE to.

I mentioned this commercial at work and a coworker went off on how cable sucks and he has DirecTV which is so awesome we're all insane for having cable. Thing is, he had an issue with the local cable company a year ago (something about his cable/ internet not working properly....he was pretty incoherent). So I was like "I've NEVER had an issue with the local cable company. IN fact they gave me a cheaper price when I moved back into my house" (tornado story, I mentioned here). He then went on how DirecTV was cheaper but it was the same price (he told me he paid) that I pay for digital cable and high speed internet.
