Cry...please send Annie back to the late '60's, along with her parents who clearly have been stuffing her full of shrooms and makin' her listen to Jefferson Airplane.
The first few plays of this commercial was fine; the next thousand has been increasingly deadly. I'm amazed Annie hasn't tried to jump off a cliff, yet - can anyone help her?
Please?
Today?
Confused

If Annie believes she can fly, maybe she can.  Don't squash her dreams, Pa!

WinkI stand corrected - You are correct, Sir.
Help her fly - she deserves to achieve her dream! You are closer to the cliffs there, Thor...maybe FA can help - each take a 'wing' & toss - be sure and have FA capture the videoBig smile; post it here.
I'll send ya both 5 CIH bucks for the effort.

The ad needs a more peppy jingle, like the one from 'People Who Died':

(...)
DELL pushed Annie from the Sam's Club roof
Annie thought that DELL's webpage was just some goof
But DELL sure gave Annie some bitchen proof
"Hey," DELL said, "Annie, can you fly?"
But Annie couldn't fly . . . Annie died

Those are people who died, died
Those are people who died, died
Those are people who died, died
Those are people who died, died
They were all my friends, and they died
etc.

I hate these commercials where everyone thinks they can produce a hollywood movie.  It makes our degrees in digital media design, and the likes, seem cheap.  We paid to get the skills to do this, A CHILD CAN'T DO THIS!!!

The green screen background she makes would never work properly for the video they show at the end.

This twee bullcrap makes me want to barf. Kind of lost its appeal when people played it up to the point of overtly self-aware obnoxiousness in the late 90's up until around 2005... any time I see it now it just makes me rage so hard...

and, at the risk of sounding overly self-satisfied, I am going to quote one of my own LastFM shouts where I expressed my feelings about the sucky band that was featured in this ad (because trying to re-articulate something I've already stated for the sake of not feeling like a self-indulgent jerk is something I am just too tired for right now):

This music is insultingly banal. The listless, limp, meandering, soulless, generic, bored, bored... boring... BORING Nu-New-Garage-Rock-Revival thing has been run into the ground. Can we move on to something else now, please, cool kids? PLEASE?!!! This is about 80% or more of what my local shop stocks in new music now and I'm sick of it.

EDIT: Seriously. I can't stress enough how much I hate this ad. I didn't care about it at first... but it's one of those ads that seems to be shown way too frequently, and it got to where it grated on me until I couldn't stand it, and eventually felt nothing but complete contempt for every aspect of it.

Even hearing it in the background bugs me now. Mainly because of that stupid song. Ugh.

Also, what is with all the ridiculous, anachronistic clothing and hairstyles and scenery (Considering the freaking laptops and HD cameras and stuff they clearly have, and are therefore clearly not living in the 1960's)?

Everyone in this commercial looks like they belong as extras in a John Waters film or something.

Thumbs Down

Dell commercials really bug me, remember the colored poop plastic assembly line, they really have a way of getting under my skin like some sort of flesh eating bacteria.

Yeah, and didn't Dell also make those annoying commercials with the colorful dancing hazmat suit guys dancing around to The Bee Gees (I believe these ads were from the late 90's)?

Ugh. Why do their ads have to be so loud and annoying (sonically and visually)?

Sounds like they're trying to imitate "garage rock" of the mid-60s.  I think they they do an OK job, considering that style always sounded kinda crappy.

As has been pointed out, the kid is doing something that's pretty much impossible for a cheap Dell computer right out of the box.
Of course there's a tiny disclaimer in the ad that says something like "additional software required for effects shown".
Yeah, like Adobe After Effects which probably costs more than that computer if you want to do motion tracking against the green screen.
Even someone that's budget conscious might buy HitFilm from FXHome and would still drop close to 300 bucks on it.
Either way it's not really all that likely that the built in graphics chipset could run advanced compositing and tracking software anyway.

And that music is brutally annoying.

...well, even though Annie's last name is probably 'Speilberg' (and daddy has no issue raising her $5k per week allowance), she's probably got the 'top of the line' machine. Doesn't mean we can't still drop her into a volcano (make certain she has those wings strapped tight!)...with the band.

I immediately assumed cats were being tortured to produce the background "music"! I hope no animals were harmed. Only our ears.

Holy sh*t, that was the absolutely stupidest thing I have seen today. That was possibly one of the worst-executed commercials I've ever seen. Was it set in the present or the 60's, because the evidence is equally stacked. Her clothes are about 50 years outdated, for starters. Everything about it jumps back and forth making you feel like you're tripping on acid. YouTube combined with a premise of children who don't understand somebody already invented airplanes, adult authority figures who let kids jump out of second-story windows... the crappy 90's film project she threw together using the most ghetto version of a green-screen I've ever seen...

Who the hell is this ad targeting? Parents? Hippy parents who want their little vagina sprinkle to be awesome and make movies, hanging out in the barn outside for no reason at all?

A) Her green screen wouldn't work that way at all. Also when is she finding time to paint that sh*t. It's elementary school, you don't get free time to use up all the paint and paper in the art closet! No one would let a child do this in the real world. If she wants to paint paper she's going to be doing it at home with her own money and supplies.

B) Why the hell does she work out of some little rascals esque club house? GO INSIDE. Who lets their child hang out outside all night making a movie?

C) A child bringing a camera to school and spending recess filming other kids? This would never happen. Kids aren't allowed to bring that sh*t to school. Where the f**k did she even get a camera to use? I guess her parents don't give a sh*t about her and just buy her whatever she wants.

D) I'm going to go there. She has autistic qualities. Being oddly obsessed with flying and spending all her free time working on her narrow focus project. Not understanding that wings and flight goggles will not make her fly, yet apparently smart enough to use a green screen and computer perfectly? I call BS ad, you can't have it both ways.

E) Why does she act like this is the first time she's ever seen something fly? You live in a world where practically everything flies, this isn't amazing at all.

F) Why is she screening this movie in her classroom? What is the point of this?! What teacher is going to set aside time for a child to show a random "look what I made" movie for the whole class? Especially since it has nothing to do with anything except "I made it looks like I flew guys does that make me cool?"

Yet another reason I hate Dell.
It's ok, I'm in marketing!

HEZA, It is all imature adtard fantasy. I really wish they would ditch the LSD and concentrate on what would actually sell their product. It will not happen as they are in competition with each other and will only keep trying to go "one up" on the other retards. I know I am preaching to the choir!

Confused...I really need to know who is here to help me take 'Annie', as she appears at 12 seconds in, and toss her off a cliff and into the Grand Canyon.
Someone HAS to stop Dell.
This commercial HAS to die.
