I was lying in bed yesterday, an episode of the cartoon "The Mighty B" was playing on Nickelodeon, when I heard Bessie Higgenbottom (the lead character in this cartoon) say either:

"Phuck it"
or
"Phuck off"

I can't remember which one it was, but it was a two-word phrase that started with the "F" word!!! OuchAngryOuch
I love to cuss.
Hell damn fart!!!
Crap boobs crap!!!
But I certainly did not expect to hear it on a children's cartoon!!! Cry

There's no way...
I love that cartoon, man. I think I was watching an episode where it sounded like she said that, but I don't remember what it was. I think that Nick wouldn't miss something like that.

I remember Rocko's Modern Life on Nick when I was growing up. There were so many jokes that at the time, went over my head and I didn't understand until I watched it again as an adult. I did however at the time understand a few things. There was an elevator to Hell in one of the episodes, with Hell clearly spelled out on the screen. Also the restaurant was named "Chokey Chicken"...as in "Choking the chicken". Well that one got changed to "Chewy Chicken" in the second season, apparently Nick wised up to that one but missed plenty others.  I feel like children's TV is too fluffed up and padded these days, like a nice big bicycle helmet.

I once saw an episode of Rocko where they were at the beach, and a sand crab said, "Me pico de culito". Translation: "My ass itches."
Pretty sneaky sis.

Cussing, eh?

"One person's ability to clearly display the limitations of their own vocabulary when attempting to express one's self"

Guess you just couldn't find another word to say, huh?

Would you talk like that in front of Mom & Dad? If not them, at a business seminar?

Would I hire you, should you talk that way?

Does nothing for our children much less anyone else, other than to show we have limitations...I don't see that as a purpose of a CARTOON; I don't find it entertaining - but, well, how about - insulting.

It was on yesterday (Saturday 05-24-08) afternoon, but I do not remember the episode title, and the Nickelodeon TV schedule on the internet no longer displays what was on yesterday.
Granted, Nick would probably catch a real cuss word, but from across the room with the TV at an intermediate volume, it sounded ***EXACTLY*** like she dropped the "F" bomb. Confused

Has anyone ever heard "pussy" in cartoons?  In "Tom & Jerry," there was an episode with this little French mouse, who'd say "Here, pooooo-sy, pooooo-sy!"  Times were much more innocent back then -- they could never get away with saying that today!LOL

I still remember this one Popeye cartoon where Wimpy was chasing a duck with a meat grinder. the duck ran into a cave to get away and wimpy tried to go after it but hit his head on the top of the hole and said DAMN IT! real loud. I was laughing my ass off the whole day over that one because up until then I had to yet to see any swearing in a cartoon.

The floodgates of swearing blew wide open the moment several characters on The Simpsons were heard uttering "THIS SUCKS"--most notably, the hooligans Dolph, Jimbo and Kearney.
