I can't believe the Tena Twist has revamped itself with a new "hip" version of their hideous song. I thought it couldn't get worse....it did.

Any commercial with the song 'Kill of the night' by Gin Wigmore, that song has been over-used to the point of insanity, ear-raping me at what seems like every available opportunity...

Sorry Jimbo, but this one is going to faceplant your example.

The professionally done version of the song is even worse.

^Wow that furniture store commercial. I would have to change the channel.

I don't remember which insurance company it is, but a lady being all sneaky replacing items that we're stolen or burned in an apartment. The song in the background makes my skin crawl.

I wonder if Bernie and Phyl are replacing the televisions broken by so many angered consumers.

@Bowling Geek- THAT would be the Nationwide Ins. The hideous thing they call "music" is "Kill of the Night" by Gin Wigmore (some name eh?)

To all my friends and loved ones in Florida, y'all have enough to deal with:
hurricanes and sink holes. Now you have the singing good for you Hipsters. Maybe those singing hipsters will take a one way trip to the Bermuda Triangle.

The Bernie and Phil's commercial is another form of child abuse for those poor kiddies. I wonder if the creator of this awful jingle are on that special registry?

I bet that hottie gymnast has some bedroom moves that can rock your world but, that awful piece of crap song has got to go! Gin Wigmore sounds like Urkel if he got a sex change operation and took up a music career.

I wen't and looked up the full song, what a mistake. I thought the small bits they put in the commercial were bad, the rest of the song is even worse!

A few months ago, it was that asshat Bolton on those Honda commercials.  No other stupid song out there could top this creep.  Now, we have that annoying Fiat commercial with that stupid Happy song.  So, if we're talking present day, it's F Happy.
SO I GO ON VEHIX.COM!....GOT A CAR TO SELL!....BUYING A CAR IS HARD!

The song that makes my ears bleed is apparently called total eclipse of the heart. I'm never eating another fiber one bar on principle.

Toss up between that and the hydroxycut (or whatever) morons. I hope they all have ulcers

While there are many commercials in this thread I already despise, this one is my current pet peeve. It plays dozens of times every day, and contains a  "song" with ZERO lyrics sung by a woman with a voice worse than fingernails on chalkboard. It's a nearly perfect Commercial I Hate.

I like this song when the Pixies are doing it and it's not in a stupid iPhone ad performed by pretentious hipsters.

Those first swipes of the electric violin annoy me very much.

Speaking of the horrendous Belvita "Morning Win" ad, has anyone noticed that the instrumental portion of the commercial (during the male voice-over) sounds suspiciously like "Puff the Magic Dragon" with a few notes changed?

The quirky hipster lady reminds me somewhat of the woman from the GEICO ad who had her dog and cockatoo play "Take On Me" for her because "downloading music can be expensive." I actually thought that commercial was cute and funny; here, though, she's just irritating (assuming it is the same actress, which I don't know for sure).  Not to mention the storyline of the commercial has NOTHING to do with the product.  The only thing I like about the commercial is that the dog is a cutie pie.

Tena Twist went from using an off-key Adele/Duffy wannabe vocalist to a robotic, autotuned girl-group.  It doesn't make the commercial any less annoying; in fact, I agree it's probably worse.

Other new adds to the annoying category...

* The Hershey Sm'ores commercial using the song "Good Time" originally by Owl City and Carly Rae Jepsen (aka the "Call Me Maybe" chick).  How do you make an already bad song worse?  Oh yeah, how about a lifeless cover version.
* Activia commercials featuring Shakira.  That "smiling tummy" motif needs to go, and fast.  The song itself isn't bad but used in the context of the commercial it becomes irritating.
* "I Love A Rainy Night" by Eddie Rabbitt for Yoplait.  Love the song, hate the commercial it's in.  Whenever we experienced a power outage when I was a kid, I guarantee the yogurt wasn't the first perishable food item we ran for.  And yogurt is not "slumber party" food no matter how they try to market it as such.

Thanks to all the fellow Gin Wigmore haters here. Case for forced vocal cord removal never clearer

Also I know this is off topic but the use of "tummy" and "decadent" in every other commercial makes me nuts

Another add to the list:

Dove Oxygen Moisture commercial, with a song featuring the lyrics "Why you gotta be like that" sung by some Lily Allen soundalike.  Like nails on a chalkboard.

That is what I meant in an earlier post referring to the "childlike" voices and toy piano sounds.
"oh! you like that,"

What a waste of a tri....I Mean Commercial! LOL

What the hell does that have to do with cat food?? Not to mention that the singer has a horribly nasal voice...ugh.

I especially can't stand the cutesy/whimsical-girl-singer ads, probably starting with that 1-2-3-4 iPod ad from a few years ago, lol.
It's gone now, but a few years ago there was that 'somebody left the gate open' credit card one with the woman rockclimber. Ugh. Not cutesy/whimsical, but still annoying after a few thousand times...

(I love that I found this board today. I watch a lot of tv when I get home from work...)

I have a news channel on when I'm home and doing chores, and I have to say the Zillow ad with the returning serviceman looking at houses with his wife is #1 on my list, followed by Liberty Mutual's ads that use "I'm Only Human" (I've heard this song more in the last 6 months than my entire time at college, I think!)

But most subtly annoying are ads that play in my area for a flooring company called 'Luna.' Their jingle is their phone number, '877-241-Lu-naaaaa' and that's fine - the annoying part is that the last second of the jingle has a keyboard playing a chord that isn't in the right key. It's only a second and sounds like another song was on the audio file that this jingle was on and it was edited incorrectly, leaving that brief moment of audio wrongness. I don't know if they keep it in because it draws attention or if it costs to much to change. I have to think they're aware of it.
I will never purchase flooring from them ;-)

P.S. Hello!

Another one to add... the latest Publisher's Clearing House commercial, which features a (REALLY BAD) cover version of Hall and Oates' "You Make My Dreams (Come True)."

I agree with this one and part of the reason is because this song has been used recently on another commercial and I don't like it for either one of them. I don't think this would be a terrible commercial if it wasn't for the song.

A new study finds that people who are chipper & happy live longer. Which is surprising because people who aren't chipper & happy want to kill people who are always chipper & happy. David Letterman
