This idea seems great on paper but I'm watching the show now and it's hard to pay attention to because they packed the game show with all these fancy sound effects that are distracting and takes away from the challange of the show, ugh it's like a stupid video game. Can't they have just a few sound effects and not have a sound effect for each and every flash swoosh and animation on screen???? geez!!!!! Also the "music" in the background thats supposed to make it tense dosen't help either, wait a minute how is viewer participate when the answer is on screen already?  Confused

The answer has been on screen since the 1960s. (They would even have the announcer whisper: "The password is ______")

Hootet and I watched the show, and immediately missed the old show, but we ARE old.

I just don' like all the flash and glitter.  And, I miss Allen Ludden.  (where's my cane!) Wink

Do you remember Bert Convy? He was Password for me when I was a kid.

I miss him too. Disapprove

This thing tonight was a high tech abomination.  I grew up with the original Ludden version.  It was fun show, and suspenseful, too without all the crappy "Who Wants To Be Millionaire" set and "music".   All I could think was...this isn't Password this is "Millionaire" with words.   The contestants have to STAND for the whole game?  What the hell is 80-something year old Betty White going to do when she comes on?  That's just riduculous.  At least give them something to lean on! I was going to watch it, then saw 'Rosie O'Dillhole' and her yeasty self prominently featured in the ads(the only celebrity panelist mentioned...I know she's big enough to take up the space for all four players, celeb and contestant, but jeez!LOL) so I 'passed' on 'Password'!
I had a feeling that with Regis around, they'd make it as much like 'Millionaire' as they could...but the description of  constant sound effects reminds me of why I hate CNBC, and their 'Star Trek' noises every time they display something onscreen!

Luckily SHE wasn't on the first show it was Rachel Ray and Neil Patrick Harris, I can't imagine how her first appearance will go.

Rosie O' Dillhole: "I love this show, Regis before we start I'd like to say an important message, I believe the Govr'nment did 9/11 ALL ON IT'S OWN, NO ONE ELSE DID IT OMG INSIDE JOB !!!!! INSIDE JOB INSIDE JOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOB!!!!!!!!!"

Regis: "I'm sorry, sorry Rosie, but you have no verifiable proof of this that HASN'T been thoroughly debunked I'm sorry Rosie, but this is REDICOULOUS, HELL I'VE SEEN EVERY VIDEO OF THE EVENT AND I DON'T HEAR ANY LOUD EXPLOSIONS AT ALL, HELL I LIVE IN NEW YORK CITY FOR CRYING OUT LOUD!!!!!!! FOR ALL OUR SAKES GET OFF THE STAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGE!!!!!!!

Rosie O' Dillhole: INSIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIDE JOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOB!!!!1!!!!!1!!1!!!!!
we see a giant cane trying to drag her offstage

Just finished watching it.

I thought it was quite good. Sure, it's not the Password we all know and love, but I thought it was refreshing to have a primetime game show that actually moved at a decent pace with almost no stalling or "dramatic" drawn out reveals.

Overall, I would say at least give it a fair try.

So, they use Rosie O'Dumbass in the ad for the first episode, and she's not even on?
CBS = 'Clumsy Bait & Switch'

Well, Rachael Ray was there, so I think you would've turned away regardless. Wink

You're right.
Today's 'celebrities' have no place on game shows that require intelligence, wit, and (HELLO, ROSIE!) small egos that don't call attention to themselves.

Now that Fremantle Media has retained Price Is Right as well as resurrecting Family Feud and Password, could there be possible returns forthcoming for Card Sharks and Concentration?

I've just heard from a trusted source that "Match Game" is coming back. (A pilot is being shot this month)

You heard right...TBS is bringing back Match Game.  It was documented on Steve Beverly's game show website www.tvgameshows.net

As for Concentration, NBC would likely air that show, since the network owns the airing rights.   One emcee candidate who would likely be out of the running is Meredith Vieira, particularly if FOX gives Vieira her own talk show.  With Card Sharks, all bets are off as to who might host its revival.
