Confused...everyone that follows Major League Baseball had to know it would eventually happen, but who could have guessed the Miami Marlins' little gift to the Hispanic community would self-destruct within the first five games of the season?

Sure didn't take Ozzie long LOL  Between this and the slow start despite high expectations with their offseason acquisitions, he's wearing out his welcome pretty quick in Little Havana.

I think this one may very well be a solid contender for all-time winner....

Apparently, it has become a popular tourist pastime on St Maartens Island in the Carribean, to grab ahold of a chain link fence that is located a mere few feet behind the end of the airport runway, where the full sized passenger jet liners power up their engines to begin their takeoff & take the brunt of the 100 mph+ jet blast.

ShockedShockedShocked I think they call it "surfing the fence".

Pay particular attention to the one young lady who found out that her grip was not quite as strong as she thought it was & who found out the hard way, that just because everyone else is doing something stupid does not mean that you should necessarily follow along with them.

BTW, with the exception of a deep gash on her head, she was OK....

Woulda been funnier if her top had blown off though.... Tongue Big smile

Ouch LOL

I looked at the video's page and this comment caught my eye, which rivals the idiocy of the girl in the vid:

Quote build airport on other side of island, have beach on opposite side. Doesn't take a genius to figure that one out. You don't place a beach directly beside an airport.. lol

Yeah those damn architects should've known better than to have the beach located behind the airport's runway when designing the island Confused  They should've designed it so the beach was somewhere more inland, out of the way of the airport.

Or vice versa!!!!

That crust would be awesome dipped in mustard!!!

Yum!!!!

Hell, I'd buy the crust without the pizza!!!!

I would absolutely LOVE it!!!!

I love good, beef hotdogs in a nice crusty or chewy bread.

In one of the local malls here MANY years ago (early 80's) there was a little bakery type place that sold the best bagel dogs I've ever had.

Gawd I loved those things.

Nearly cried when they closed down.

It's about my 20th post about it, but my stupid group is still suburban trash burners, at least the South Texas variety (I don't know any others). They pick the hottest days of the years, so that the things will STINK instead of smell remotely all right, and so things will be that much eff-ing hotter. When I think about some poor slob who collapses from the heat on a 90+ day just by crossing the street, and then I think about these people.... On top of everything else, I live about two minutes from a fire station. Which is good news, but you'd think the sound of fire trucks every single day (even if they're going someplace else) would creep these people out, just from making the connection, for chrissake. I know it does me.

I've been planning on maybe burning a bunch of yard waste like limbs & leaves etc., but I'm a bit leary about starting a huge fire in my backyard.

I'll sure as hell have the water hose handy if I ever do.

And of course, I'll have to actually create the waste first by trimming up all the crap I want to trim up...

Which I have not done yet.

ShockedI think I mentioned 'The Campers' setting fire to the far-end of Wolfy Island about a month ago...as it turned out, I was incorrect. It was an idiot neighbor who was burning yard scrap - and the scrap fire spread, catching the border marshlands on fire (which could only burn itself out over time). Burned for about 6 hours and almost to the edge of our property (I'm still tanked about them) - they blamed it on an 'Act of God' and were busy looking for sympathy, rather than offering apologies.
I'd like to offer them a 'coctail'.
A foreign one.
It'd almost be a pleasure to toss it through their bay window.
