...'tis a quiet evening; reading and a little T.V. Reading?: All about the SOPA and PIPA uproar (privacy), for the most part; WIKIPEDIA is shutting down in protest, in a matter of hours. Here's a little brief for those interested. So, after having my fill of the ongoing drama and deciding enough was enough, I found this on PBS (and yes, it is available on DVD)...tonight's installment just ended and I'm still coming out of my 'happy haze'. The show totally captivated me; I've been pretty far north, but not quite that far.
Some folk may know who Billy Connolly is; Scotsman, actor, musician, comedian - brilliant person, been around a while
This simply was a treat and is making me rethink and expand our travel plans to visit some of our oldest friends who've retired in the Denali Forest.
I'll probably pick up this DVD.

Actually, I am familiar with him.
![]() Seen him on Letterman a couple of times.
I'll never forget a story he told involving the "new bridge" in his hometown in Scotland.
It went sort of like this (try to "hear it" in a thick Scotish brogue): I was walking thru Chicago recently when I came across a woman standin there on the sidewalk with her hands on the side of a building. I said to her "Ma'am, why are ye holdin on to that buildin.... are ye OK?" She replied to me "This building is over 200 years old!! Can you imagine all the history this building has seen? I'm just tryin to absorb some of it!!!" So I said to her, "I come from a town in Scotland where they still refer to the 'new bridge'. They've been callin it that since they built it..... IN THE ELEVENTH CENTURY!!!!!"
"And the OLD BRIDGE is till there right next to it!!!!!"
