When you find the Youtube video you want, instead of copy/pasting the entire URL into your reply, just take the part of the URL following the first = sign and copy/paste that into your reply.

Then, put TUBE in front of that portion, and /TUBE after it, each in brackets, with the URL portion in between.  When you actually post your reply, the video will appear here.  This is the one clamshell posted:

Like this?

Damn, maybe I'm a little slow.  This is the second time someone tried to explain it to me:-P

It's somewhat hard to explain here, because if I was to type out exactly what you should be typing, all that would post would be the video itself.  You'd have to see what I had typed in order to know what I had typed.

You'll probably get it.  I had the occasional problem at first, too.

Or maybe there's another problem.

Anyway, I'll try taking that little bit of URL I see in your post (3ut4C_MOmsc), set it up with the TUBE codes, and see what I get.

It's Bugs!!!

Well, I see you're at least using the correct part of the URL.

Don't feel bad Craftychiq, I can't seem to get the hang of it either.

How did you do that without actually posting the video?

Sorry, all - I missed this thread until now.  I'm fixing posts, so if you "edit" your own, you'll see the tube tags, in place.

Actually, it would be ironic if Pee Wee Herman were telling us not to masturbate in porno theaters.

Or it would make perfect sense.  What person more perfect than Pee-Pee Pee Wee could personally perceive and publicly impart the problems with porn palace prick play?

Holy crap! I thought I was the only who remembers this. I remember they would show some creepy drawings of how he shot his brother "Omar". The ad would begin with a happy family drawing with the kid narrating. "this is my brother Omar." Then the ad gets real ominous with the kid narrating on how he shot and killed his brother with these disturbing crayon drawings of the incident. And the ad would end with the kid crying out "I didn't mean to shoot daddy's gun...I didn't mean to shoot daddy's gun." I saw this ad once late at night back in 2001, and it still gives me the creeps when I think about it. probably one of the most disturbing ads I've ever saw.

I've been seeing this one PSA or PSA-like commercial lately.  I've never noted what exactly it's for (anyone know?), but in it, this funny-looking nerd kid in high school gets harassed by a group of other kids who knock his books to the ground and laugh at him.  One of the really cool high school jock guys witnesses this, and comes to the nerd's assistance.

Another similar one, has the new girl in school trying to sit down at a lunch table with a bunch of other girls.  The other girls make some snide comment about "the new girl", and then move to another table.  Another girl nearby witnesses this, and joins the new girl at the lunch table.

I don't know what "product" the commercials are selling (it seems like they might be commercials for the Mormon Church), but the message is a good one.

What people don't know, is that there was a SEQUEL to the 70's crying indian ad in 1998. However, Iron Eyes Cody died in 1998 some time after the commercial aired so they stopped playing it, it's very chilling:

That's a lot of vids, and I have even more that I want to post. I'm a PSA freak. Dead

My newest pet hate are the Ad Council spots done by "autismspeaks.org"...each ad seems to disagree with the others on exactly what the odds of autism are (I've seen so far 1/166, 1/150, and 1/144...so which is it?)

I just don't like the way they portray autism as something horrible.  I've been told that the organization behind that website takes a "telethon" pity approach to autism; it shouldn't exist (now I wonder if they're also behind the autism/vaccine "link") and autistics can't possibly be independent or contribute anything useful.

My faves:

*the "THis is your brain on Drugs" from the mid-late 80's.

*The one where the dad finds some dope in his son's bedroom and yells "Where did you learn this from" and the kids exclaims "I learned it from watching YOU!"

Hates:

*The More You Know spots on NBC

*the anti-smoking campaign

*one on radio aired in the Atlanta area called Boost Up.org

*another radio spot...one telling you to talk to your kid about S*x because if you don't their going to hear about it from "everyone else"

*there was one aired on Saturday mornings in the Mid-Late 80's. It featured a dog packing a suitcase and a little boy sitting in front of a TV, zoning out.

LOL I LOVE the we're not candy psa! It reminds me of this play they did in school when I was in kindergarten where pinocchio comes across some "bad" kids, gets high sniffing glue and starts hallucinating. They had some freaky looking muppets as the hallucinations and it scared the hell out of me:-D Needless to say I never sniffed glue... not that it had ever occurred to me to do it beforehand and always seemed like a stupid thing to do anyway LOL
