Ever listen to a baseball game on the radio? Major league, minors..... it's all the same. 10 solid minutes of repetitive ads and sponsor intros before the first pitch. At least 2 more minutes between innings. and possibly 3-4 during pitching changes. Added in are the ever popular ''home run derby'' parts of the batting order sponsored by (DILLIGAFF). Gimme more baseball and less commercial bullsh*t.
The ad I'd really love to see has the GEICO Gecko being run over and flattened by the Energizer bunny.

Part of the reason baseball games are five hours long now.  Between Madison Avenue, the cultural marginalization of baseball (good Lord, it's baseball season and all we're hearing about is where Lebron is going to play next year), and the peculiar American obsession with never starting a game before 8 pm on the east coast, I'm surprised kids even know what baseball is anymore.

Kids know - a lot of them end up in little league and summer ball with team "names" based off of MLB teams. Over here, our local little league uses names like the Cubs, the Nationals, the Dodgers, etc. Some want to be in little league to make friends, and some are forced by their "sports-worthy" parents to go into A SPORT because they will not survive without being in a professional sport making a $2 million salary every year. Even 5 year olds end up in baseball...ahem, T-BALL...
They obviously need commercials between pitching and batting changes - people would be BORED if we watched a baseball game with no commercials. Oh boy there's a new pitcher coming up onto the mound and practicing, and some players are spitting sunflower seeds in the bullpen!

It's the same way with NFL games.  The worst is the score a touchdown, go to commercial for two minutes, kickoff, go back to commercial for another two minutes sequence.  Add in timeouts, challenges/offical replay reviews, end of quarters, and the two minute warning and there is a lot of ad time.
