This is just a classic Dumb Daddy commercial that just defies all logic,

The ad starts with a geeky looking husband in his 40s with his laptop going to his wife telling her that he needs the "internet cord" to connect to the internets. Cry

His 12 year old spoiled brat daughter is then shown on HER laptop, browsing the internet WITHOUT an internet cord, omg! He walks over and asks HOW on earth she could DO this without the cord.

His wife and 12 year old daughter explain that their family has a magical new "WIRE-less" internet connection which obliterates the need for "internet cords"

But father is not to be made a fool, he laughs and says "Haha, REALLY now, where's the cord?" So his intelligent, sexy, sophisticated, tech-savy wife ROLLLLLLS her eyes and explains the new ATT wireless deal which (since she is sooo smart) she has memorized.

So not ONLY is father an idiot, he also has NEVER seen or heard of wireless internet, dispite his family members (including himself, his wife, AND his 12 year old daughter) each owning their own laptops, he was also comPLETELY left OUT of the decision to buy/install ATT's new service. So clearly Father is (i assume) just a cash cow for the supreme women of the household who decide everything themselves without his consent. Guess we know who wears the pants in his family.

and who the hell buys their 12 year old a laptop??

The cool, hip parents.  The ones that later have parties and buy the underage kids beer. Then wonder why their kids are so screwed up.

Yea, cause wireless routers haven't been around for 10 years already... Oh wait, yes they have.

We have needed "teh internet cord" in quite some time.

I'm bumping up this nearly three-year-old thread because I see this commercial on my local stations all. the. time. When I'm watching a show on my local FOX affiliate (Big Bang Theory, How I Met Your Mother, Family Guy, etc.), it seems to come on during every commercial break.

Wow.  Has this commercial really been on that long?  (obviously, it has)

I'm sick of it.  Of course, I was sick of it as soon as it came out.  Stupid commercial.

AT&T has dug those old snarky ads back out. They're also re-running one I hate even more, the one where the cable guy is being belittled by the student and the teacher on career day.

That's another one I see all the time. A friend of mine says the cable guy is now on 2 Broke Girls as the cook that's always making sleazy comments to the girls.
