Bo Diddley = Big Black Rich Musician, holdin' a big guitar, wantin' to know "Who do You Love?"

Bo Dietl = Short White Broke Dicktective, holdin' a sub-sammie, wantin' to know if you understand the meat you are about to swallow was sliced in Iowa (they have since removed "in a factory in IOWA",  from the original commercial, as one will notice).

YOU tell ME - What's wrong with this picture, eh?

If'n I wanna stinkin' sammie, I want FOOD - I didn't ASK where the meat was sliced! When I'm grocery shopping, I buy sliced meat all the time - and, well...OH YEA! I forgot to ask where it was sliced! Sumbiatch!
Thanks 'Dog Piddle'.

Yeah this one seems dumb and incomplete (maybe on purpose?). They're not telling us why slicing meat in-store means a damn thing (probably doesn't). I'm suddenly reminded of the term "blast processing" from the Sega Genesis commercials and wine snobs talking about "minerality".

Any notice how butt ugly the new Arby's logo is (not the one at 31 seconds the one that is shown at 24 onwards)? The hat looks like it was modified 3D in Powerpoint, the apostrophe looks like a meat slicer, and the text looks like it was an afterthought.

I guess I shockingly don't care if a zit-faced teenager is slicing my meat in the back room or a machine is doing it somewhere in Idaho.

Uh! Iowa. That is a long way from Idaho. Please confirm that with your 4th grade geography teacher.

Any time a company employes this tactic, it just makes me think they're desperate. Ooooo sliced in house vs sliced before shipping? There's no f**king quality difference! It doesn't make the meat "fresher" or whatever you're trying to make the ignorant masses infer. I'm sure there's no one who can taste a difference in the same turkey log sliced on site or in a factory. If it keeps my sandwich cheaper then who gives a f**k where it was sliced?!
It's ok, I'm in marketing!

It is Bo Dietl, not Bo Diddle.  Personally, I have little respect for the man as he was a big time opportunist in the years after 9/11 capitalizing on people's paranoia to promote his businesses and himself.  He appears on Fox News and Don Imus doing this in different ways to this day.  I can't imagine why Arby's would pick him for a commercial.

Thanks for the correction...I guess. Sounds and looks too much like 'Mammy's lil'white & failed marshmallow-version' of Bo Diddley.

He's a creep...neeehhhhhhh! I couldn't care less how he spells his name.

Great Choice, Arby's!

Before they removed the reference to Iowa, I was going to try to contact Arby's and ask, "Yo, dumbasses, where do your restaurants in Iowa slice their meat?"

Not to mention that alienating an entire state (in this case with a population of 2-1/4 million adults) is a good way to send them straight to the competition!
Ordinary Americans bust their butts for less than $10 an hour while advert folks pull big money making up the bullshot highlited on this website. AARGH!

They removed IOWA. OK. The commercial I watched still called it a factory. I wish they would remove the term "FACTORY"! I believe a factory manufactures or assembles something. I think a processing plant would slice turkey as I don't think we yet have the technology to manufacture or assemble turkeys. No surprise. Arby commercials have always been produced by ignorant idiots!

I don't buy roast beef often and I've only been to Arby's once, but I noticed years ago that the prepackaged stuff pales in comparison to the stuff they slice at the deli counter.  Other cold cuts, not so much difference.  Maybe it's that deli roast beef is an actual slab of meat, while other deli meats are more processed.

I don't think I've ever had turkey coldcuts that tasted much like turkey meat cut right from a cooked turkey.

I don't do sliced lunch meat often but I recently found a product that I just had to try.

It's John Morrell sliced chicken breast with flecks of bacon and ranch seasoning in it. They have a whole line of "Better With Bacon" meats that are SO GOOD. I can't find anything about them online or even on their website, it's like they don't exist! Maybe they're just testing them but I gotta say, if you come across the chicken bacon ranch meat you gotta try it.

All I see are the nutrition facts, which at least proves you're not imagining the product.

I use my fitness pal! 80 calories for 2 slices aint too bad considering 2 slices make a good sandwich. I was at Walmart today and looked for it again and it was sold out. I found out that Eckrich owns or is owned by John Morrell and they also have a line of bacon laced lunch meats. Very peculiar.

Because Arby's doesn't like Iowa, I now have reason to like Iowa. I have no friends or family in Iowa, and have never even been to Iowa -- but corporate Arby's doesn't like Iowa, ergo I will have to like Iowa, and dislike Arby's.
How's that for my thinking. And who says I am a hater?
