Oh dear God, the people on the train are acting just like their bobblehead avatars in the car, with that damn-crazy, drugged nodding.  This is what happens when you take Amtrak??!! Shocked

Okay, now I'm sort of a fan of Amtrak.  Just expect to be about 8-10 hours late to your destination.  My wife and I have traveled most all of the routes around the USA, all directions at one time or another.  Yes, there are many inconvenient interruptions on your travels, but you have to expect this.

I'm glad Amtrak is trying to entice new ridership.

Other than the stupid bobbleheads, this doesn't really bother me!

Big smileWinkI'm a die-hard train fan.
Back in the days we had the Hamlet on the Hudson and then the days on 'Murder Hill', in Schenectady, I actually worked in Long Island, most of the time. In a way, I sort of wish we could have picked up a place in The City.
The train ride from Rensselaer to Penn Station is one of the best in the USofA and lasts a little over 2 hours. I absolutely love it.
When the destination has a great public transport system, there is NO reason to drive. NYC has the best public transport.
In 2018, I'm certain to spend an undetermined amount of time all across India. I think train rides may be a bit more of a challenge.
At 2:08, see the old Pamban Bridge in India...a little scary, but then there are so many more very similar to the Bangladesh railway, which follows at 3:00 in. I don't think I can ride on the rooftop...then watch Indian Railways at 5:10 and imagine an ol'Wolf fighting for a seat..or don'tCryas I'm SURE the combined body odors would lead to on-board flash puking...Dead

^ I think the camera may be rotated about 25 degrees counter-clockwise in the above train photo.
