Hate to be the one to break the bad news to you. Theyrrre back. However the one where the caveman is a cheerleader is sort of funny though creepy.

If that creepy king came back now with the Penn State sex scandal that would not be a good thing!

The whiny snotty curly-haired brat whose parents had a 2011 Toyota Highlander, telling parents, "Just because you're parents, doesn't mean you have to be lame (by driving something other than a Highlander)." Remember him yammering on about those poor kids who had to ride in Mom and Dad's Buick Roadmaster station wagon, Plymouth Voyager minivan, or Ford Taurus (depending on the specific commercial)?
Criticism for this campaign came not only from Internet rants like this one, but social workers and others discussing the bad message this was sending about crass materialism.
Ironically, in the one with the kid trying to dive into the Roadmaster before his peers saw him, Highlander Kid walked by a vehicle perfect for kids like this: a school bus!

What really infuriates me is that Geico's "so easy a caveman can do it" campaign amounted to making fun of people objecting to their demographic group(s) being insulted in ads.

Here are some off the top of my head.
Beer ads with that "Real Men of Genious!" I know most people feel they are classics but to me they were old after one viewing.
Hillshire Farms-"Go Meat'
99.9% of the Christmas commercials from that never ending Christmas season of 2010. Some that come to mind, the Target Lady, Pomplimoose Hipster Hyundai, Happy Honda Days featuring Vampire Weekend. That creepy Best Buy or whatever store elf with the big head.
Those animated pixel commercials for Pop Tarts with the gay school boy with the big head prancing around as he just got out of bed and bypassed the bathroom for basic bathing and oral care.
The hip hop gerbils or whatever critter of the rodent family for that Fugly Kia Soul SUV
Cadillac's "Making Whoopie" commercials from the late 90's/early 2000's
Any commercial or promo that featured Lou Bega's Mambo #5
Any commercial or promo that used Tina Turner's awful "Simply the Best."
Royal Carribean's "Why Not" and the Iggy Pop tune ads
United Airline's strange creepy animation ads from around 20 years ago
Not the Feist song (I liked that one) but one of the newer "hipster songs" for Apple's latest gizmo. The one with the perky girl with the finger snapping background is just plain obnoxious.
Can't think of it but there were a couple commericals using Gospel and old time religion.
About 8 to 10 years ago there was a commerical for Mercedes Benz that featured an upscale mansion with two brothers who look out their window and see snow. They jump up and down on the bed doing "air guitar" and shouting no school. Their yuppy obnoxious looking Wall Street lawyer daddy comes in and nasally tells them be ready in 5 minutes for their ride to school. Of course they skip bathing and brushing theier teeth. They remind me of some Westchester NY/or Ct. rich folk.
I'll think of more but that's all for now. |

There was a recent one for Direct Auto insurance that started with a big girl with frizzy hair jumping up onto the counter at a diner, then whooping, kicking her legs and apparently "dancing", while the other people looked on in bewilderment. Then we see a flashback to "Five minutes ago", and she's on the phone saying something like "Really, you can insure me for that little?!?!"
I hit the remote every time it came on.

I'm so glad the Digger the Dermaphrodite is gone. I hated that commercial where he lifted up the toenail and went under it. Ew ew ew!!!
Also, I'm glad GEICO got rid of those stupid ads with Kash, the creepy money with eyes and that annoying techno music. GEICO ads are stupid but those took the cake! |

I don't want to say which ad campaigns I'm glad have died because that will then put a jinx on everything and that particular campaign will return! That's the way my luck goes!

I HAVE A STRUCTURED SETTLEMENT AND I NEED CASH NOW!!!
CALL J.G. WENTWORTH!! or, almost as annoying... ITS MY MONEY AND I NEED IT NOW x7 from the SAME company. I think they deliberately make horribly stupid and annoying commercials. They seem to have died down. (for a while) |

Hopefully we've seen the last of those Dairy Queen ads featuring the creepy guy with the porno 'stache doing random wacky things.
"And I'm not just playing a guitar. I'm playing a guitar that sounds like dolphins!" The ad execs that pitched that campaign weren't just on drugs, they were on some serious brain-warping drugs. |

When Radio Shack tried to go Hipster and just call itself THE SHACK!
Here's a "vintage God awful commercial." I used to joke around saying where's the chick on the rag who slides off a greased pole for these feminine products. |

I'm happy one is at least suspended due to the season... Hopefully it has died a silent, lonely death, and I will never have to tolerate it's vicious stare ever again.
The one at Christmas where people in the mall start singing and dancing because I think they're buying stuff online. Anything with singing and dancing is immediately terrible. Anything with people dressed as normal shoppers breaking into song and dance is even worse. The most egregious detail of this campaign of hate, are the looks on those standing by, watching these people. People just have this sly grin on their faces, like they're just loving this little show, and it makes my skin ripple. I hate it.
