One thing  I truly hate hate hate about radio ads is when they have to have a legal disclaimer at the end, and they digitally speed up the recording to the point where it's just annoyingly fast and you can't understand what they're saying anyway, except maybe you catch every fifth word or so.

I mean, why bother?
Hundreds of threads killed.

Well, obviously so they can claim they put it in there.  I'm sure it doesn't matter to them whether anyone can actually understand it.

Exactly why they do it.  And when they get taken to court, all they have to do is point out that the disclaimer was there.

For a while they were trying this trick of putting of putting the disclaimer before the ad.

You would hear this extremely quiet very fast talking mumbling before the ad (you'd think to yourself, what was that?) then the ad would kick in full blast making you jump for the volume control.

More and more I'm also seeing the tv equivalent of this... Small print so tiny that its barely readable on my 50" tv, and is only on for a few seconds anyways. Why even bother?

Avoiding legal trouble. The jerkasses point out there's a disclaimer and they're off the hook.
